The Woodhouse Wollombi Wedding – Amanda & James

As restrictions eased across the state, the Hunter Valley boomed with rescheduled weddings. The Chic Artistry team reached for our curling irons and makeup brushes; we were back doing what we love, styling brides in the most amazing venues across the region!

The venue: The Woodhouse Wollombi

Amanda and James were married at The Woodhouse in Redwood Park Wollombi, a location that suited this couple’s vibe down to a tee.

The Woodhouse is the perfect backdrop for a country destination wedding. For our firefighter bride, Amanda, this relaxed and natural location was the obvious choice to celebrate with loved ones.

The bridal party’s day started half an hour away from the Woodhouse at the Cowboy’s Cabin. This is such a cute and cooky location to get ready! The idyllic natural light and historic backdrop resulted in these amazing photos.

The look: Hair and makeup

Amanda has these beautiful, big blue eyes, so we didn’t need to do much to make her sparkle. A delicate pink eyeshadow paired with naturally soft lip allowed Amanda to truly glow.

After getting to know Amanda, seeing the location and her stunning gown, we knew that a textured half-up hairstyle with soft, elegant curls would complete the look. I mean, look at her, she’s radiant!

Amanda knew that our team’s creative experience and effortlessly dreamy signature style would deliver on the look and feel of her wedding. Our creative freedom inspired us to feature subtle earthy tones for the bridesmaid’s makeup, while their hairstyling incorporated textured braids to capture the whimsical nature of the wedding.

The team behind the scenes

Before the bride walks down the aisle, the wedding vendors aim to work harmoniously to capture incredible memories like these throughout the day.

As hair and makeup artists it’s our job to facilitate a happy and calm atmosphere, getting everyone ready in time for other vendors like the photographer and florist, to jump in.

We’re there for our bride and her maids to offer calming words, friendly advice, and touch ups before you zip up your dresses and the photographer works his magic.

On this day, my partner, Gez was the guy behind the camera. Coupled wedding vendors at your own wedding can bring such a loving and unique element to your special day. We love working together and organising the behind-the-scenes dynamics, giving other couples a fairy-tale experience like ours.

Our favourite part of the job is that it doesn’t feel like a job at all! Being involved in Amanda’s preparation process was such a special experience. By the end of the day, we felt like a part of the bridal party and would go back and do a wedding like this 100 times over.
